Monrovia Flood SERIOUS PRECAUTIONS REQUIRE...!
About this category: Environment & Urbanization

PRECAUTIONS REQUIRE>>>!

It is becoming very unusual to evry coastl cities around the world with the fast growing incidents of floors all over. I think it is about time for governments of most coastal cities to start taking precautions on how to prevent future accurence than rushing humanitarian crisis.

As we all are aware of the issue of glabal warming and yet trying to negotiate with world most industrial polutants of the global atmosphere, it would be more wiser for us to start sensitizing our citizens about the traits and dangers that sorounds US ALL...!

The recent story about flood in Monrovia and the worst among all should serve as a clear warning that such incidents will continue and be more deperate than earlier........So, needs most attentions...!

Acording to IRIN news MONROVIA, 21 July 2008 (IRIN) -

Intense and heavy rainfall in the Liberian capital Monrovia on 20 July caused the worst floods on record in Monrovia and forced nearly 1,000 people out of their houses, Liberian authorities told IRIN.

All day Sunday, residents in eastern areas of the city including in Paynesville, Townhalk, King Gray, Fish Market and other communities were seen removing personal belongings like mattresses, clothes and pots from their homes. By the end of the day, flood water had blocked roads to the area, and government rescue workers were using canoes to evacuate the remaining people from the flood areas.

"Right now, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Internal Affairs along with the Red Cross has been assisting in evacuating the flood affected residents to safer locations and as a temporary measure the government has relocated those residents to shelter in nearby schools," Liberia's Chief Medical Officer Bernice Dahn told IRIN on 21 July.

"With close to 1,000 persons displaced this is the worst flood we have experienced in this city," she said.

Meteorologists have warned that the entire West Africa region is likely to receive above average levels of rainfall in 2008. Floods have already been recorded this year in countries including Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, and Burkina Faso.

However Liberia's Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) acting executive director Jerome Nyenka told IRIN that the cause of the Monrovia flood is due to what he called "encroachment of human habitations on wetlands" as much as the level of rainfall.

"In this case, we have been able to gather that the affected areas are swamps. Because people have erected structures on those wetlands it prevented the flow of water and caused the floods," he said.

Dahn said the health ministry is already liaising with several of the international aid agencies which have presences in Monrovia to coordinate assistance to the flood victims.

BUT WE HAVE TO DO MORE.......Let's start a better joining now...

Thanks for reading.

CENSUS SCAMS...HEY - This Too is Liberia

Up to now we are not sure of what willl actually happen to people who wasted their precious time sitting for a 7 days LISGISH workshop without eating nor drinking.

It's the very first time in the history of every civilize society where human beings are been assembled under such very important and intensive occassion without been fed and not even very much sure of thier incentives.

THIS TOO IS LIBERIA - and the many faces of corrupt governance still sure.

The Ghana Scammer rooming the Net....my God..!

This a Ghanain Scammer who writes from Ghana, can anyone contact him and see.....

Be carefore though, don't be carried away....!

Here is writtings:

HSBC Bank Ghana plc.
Annex Building
6thFloor Suite.
102, Church Rd.
Accra,Ghana.

Dear Sir,

In our search for a trustworthy individual to work with us on a very important and confidential project, we came across your esteemed profile through our Chambers of Commerce and Industries.

My name is Mr.Kwame Williams , a principal executive officer in the audit department of the HSBC Bank Ghana plc. During the yearly preliminary in-house auditing of accounts, I discovered an account opened in 1995 and since 2000 has remained dormant which means that nobody has been operating it up till date. The total amount in this account is $10.2 Million less accrued interest.

Working together with the audit manager, we decided to investigate this account for more information. We discovered that the owner of this account, a foreigner has died inter-state leaving no heirs or next of kin who could make a claim.

Presently, we are the only two people in our organization with access to this information and we have decided to keep it that way and claim the money for ourselves using a third party who will take the place of the deceased (next of kin).

We will supply the necessary information of the deceased and ensure that the claim application is given immediate approval.
Documents like the death certificate will be arranged and forwarded to you for onward submission to the bank.

The project is risk-free as we will use contacts that hold strategic positions in the bank to effect a successful completion of the project and also ensure that all traces of our mutual involvement are completely wiped off. These presents no problem as all documented evidence will be directly under their supervision.

We have earmarked a commission of 25% of the total amount for you. A further 5% will be set aside to cover expenses on both sides, which will include expenses incurred in processing this claim. The remaining 70% you will help us invest in a profitable stocks and shares in your country. We would like to get your decision to this proposal as soon as possible. On receipt of your decision, we will fax you or email you explicit details of the already completed groundwork on this project.

You can contact me at all times on this below email account for more explanation.

Best Regards,

Mr.Kwame Williams.

One Nation-Liberia

Hey, I am from Liberia.

Liberia is located on the southern part of the west coast of Africa. The origins of the modern state of Liberia go back to the settlement in the nineteenth century of freed US slaves in Africa, partly in an effort to address potential social tensions which it was feared could develop in the US between freed slaves and existing slave owners (prior to the definitive abolition of the trade); and later partly to resettle in Africa those rescued from illegal slave ships as part of the drive to end slavery. Settlers started arriving in land purchased by the United States for US$300 from local chieftains in the early nineteenth century and, by 1830, numbered a thousand people. This new "land of liberty," named Liberia, continued to expand. The people united in 1839 to form the Commonwealth of Liberia under a governor appointed by the American Colonization Society, and, in 1847, the Free and Independent Republic of Liberia was proclaimed.

Liberia was founded by Americans so that freed slaves could resettle back in Africa. Monrovia was named after U.S. President James Monroe, and was founded during his term by the American Colonization Society. The first town was established in 1822 on Providence Island. The settlers, or the Americo-Liberians, were engaged in a number of disputes with the indigenous population for many years. In recent years, Liberia has been recovering from fierce fighting lasting 8 years. Almost every news article ends by stating that "Liberia was founded by former U.S. slaves in the 1800s." and some Liberians beg to differ. To them, Liberia was never founded by American former slaves. And that's the mistake of some Liberian historians. From research, The Grain Coast (forcibly changed to Liberia) was where the American Colonization Society (ACS) landed America's former slaves. The fifth American president, James Monroe, once served as president of the ACS and so was Henry Clay, a one-time Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. The ACS, along with some churches in Maryland and Philadelphia, were sick and tired of seeing free men and women of color hanging out demanding jobs and rights. Their former "massas" could not tolerate that and decided to deport them to the Grain Coast.

Liberia has Africa’s biggest runway and the biggest deep-sea port of West Africa. Monrovia is the only free port in West Africa. Before the war, Liberia was West Africa's center of commerce and transportation, and attracted industries like petroleum, paint, pharmaceuticals and cement. Many impressive buildings were built, along with the old University of Liberia (opened in 1862, university status in 1951), and a secondary school system, hospitals etc. However, the infrastructure has been largely destroyed by the fighting in recent years. The Snap shake is a typical Liberian handshake. The Firestone Plantation is the world’s largest one. Liberia is the first ever republic of Africa and has never been colonized. When peace has been returned, Liberia has much to offer, including friendly people, lush landscapes and some of the last remaining virgin rainforest in West Africa.

Now That we have peace after 14 years of bloody civil unrest......i believe God Almighty will help us enjoy what He gives us......

Welcome....

SATAN'S PLANS DISCOVERED IN A DREAM....!!!!

It is Important, We all need to be very careful and alert as satan and his alies are growing with much deadly plans for man kind......!!

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.

In his opening address he said:

"We can't keep Christians from going to church."
"We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth."
"We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their saviour."

"Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."

SO; We Need to go by these following Plans.....;

" Let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.."

"This is what I want you to do," said the devil:

"Distract them from gaining hold of their Saviour and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!"

"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted...!

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.

"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."
"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles."

"Keep them from spending time with their children."
"As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"

TO BE CONTINUE........!!!

GOD BLESS YOU AS YOU TAKE PRECAUTIONS>>>>!!

Completing Workshop – One – In Caldwell Today
Related to country: Liberia

After three weeks, today we have finalized first the training session of over 10 children from the Caldwell Community and surrounding areas.

These kids were selected from five different schools to benefit the hands on ICT and entrepreneurship training which of course have had a greater impact in their lives.

Entering the TIG/ACPI-CLCWA-Liberia Telecentre today all participants were tested for what they have learned over the six days.

Identifying the physical components of the PC and what’s on their screens and how to create some for themselves where among others. The kids were just happy doing it so better, though it still seems hard for some as they struggle to accomplish certain challenging task.

The good thing is that some off them have just seen it for the first time and can even us it now to do a peace of job for them. They were able to create accounts and join TIG yesterday, so today they are posting their comments and blogs about how they feel about the program.

The situation for many youths here in this country is still difficult. Since we had the first Open forum, some of the participants who came up to now are not yet able to sign up to TIG. We are still working on helping to use the Telecentre as a means to help other Networked Organizations and members join and teach them how to make use of the TIG page and tools also.

As the publicity is out for the Social Enterprise and Media competition, other promotional materials have been posted around to, to encourage and allow more and more youth gain access to this wonderful opportunity.

We encourage all organizations to submit names of participants for the Next workshop.

More appreciations to TIG, our Global Coordinator and officials in Canada.

Welcome…

LIBERIA-CLCWA-A Dream Come True
About this category: Learning & Education

As i said earlier,
The TIG Program in Liberia is moving very strong and there is a need to as for many suggestions and contributions on how we can better make use of this simple opportunity given us all to transform our future and for the generations after us.......!

It is a big plus for the enforcing successes we enjoy and the many
excitements after several connections that are underway. I can see
"SMILES" on the faces of many children as they sat in the CLCWA-Liberia
Telecentre, touching and some seeing computers for their first time.

It is an unforgettable experience and one child in the Caldwell
community said to me ; "Brother Thomas, i really Thank God for the people who
brought about this school". I love them and i can sense some cheers in
their faces each day we appear for class.

For me, the TIG Platform have been a best ground for me since my
internet experience. I think we got more to discover with the new revamp of
TIG.

Let's Work ALL.......
